Session Overview:

This GTAV Student Lecture will take a deep dive into Unit 4: Human Population and provide you with some useful tips and tricks to assis on your study of Geography. This session will include: 

  • A review of the study design - what students need to know
  • A brief overview of the content with a demonstration of how this is applied to part exam questions
  • A review of the types of data analysis questions to expect and some different approaches
  • A breakdown of suggested answer structures for different question types
  • Tips for case study questions 
  • A revision of instructional terms and key geographic concepts and how to apply these

About the Presenter:

Adrian DeFanti - Mazenod College 

 

Adrian has taught VCE Geography for 15 years. Throughout this period, he has co-authored several textbooks for the GTAV and other commercial publishers. Adrian's approach to teaching VCE Geography involves choosing unique, highly-applicable case studies and manageable fieldwork sites. He balances his lessons to ensure his students have a deep understanding of complex concepts while learning to apply knowledge in a range of formats and structure answers to maximise results. Adrian is also determined to find ways to maintain his students achieve strong results while ensuring teacher workload is manageable, particularly at the VCE level.
