Shape the future of Geography education
Calling all passionate Geography teachers, industry experts, and education professionals!
This is your opportunity to share your expertise at Victoria’s premier Geography education event - the Geography Teachers' Association of Victoria (GTAV) Annual Conference 2026.
What we’re looking for
The theme for this year’s conference is People, Change and Interconnections.
We’re prioritising teacher-led sessions aligned with the Victorian Curriculum F-10 Version 2.0 and VCE Geography Study Design 2022, with a strong focus on practical, classroom-ready ideas.
We also welcome expressions of interest from organisations that are able to deliver curriculum-aligned educational content.
You can contribute by presenting:
- An all day fieldwork experience on Thursday 13 August (Fieldwork Day)
- An engaging workshop or lecture on Friday 14 August (Conference Day)
Sessions may explore:
- Innovative and engaging teaching approaches
- Explicit integration of geographic skills
- Compelling case studies
- Fieldwork ideas and best practice
- Geospatial technologies in the classroom
- Assessment strategies
- High-quality teaching resources - and more

Submitting an EOI
The Expression of Interest process is quick and simple, and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
We’re not asking for a fully developed proposal - just the proposed topic and a brief description. Successful applicants will be invited to provide further details once EOIs close.

Conference Day Presenters Only
A single presenter will receive a complimentary registration to Conference Day.
If you are co-presenting a session, each presenter will receive a 50% discount off the metro school member registration price for Conference Day. Please note there is a maximum of 2 presenters per session.
