Awards

Each year, the GTAV recognises the contribution of its members to the advancement of Geography education though the provision of awards and early career teacher bursaries.

Members are notified by email when nominations are called, and awards are presented on stage at the GTAV Annual Conference.

Note that the GTAV Award for Geographical Education (GAGE) and Honorary Life Membership Awards are by invitation only.

Conferral of Awards

Awards are conferred at the discretion of the Awards Sub Committee. The Sub Committee reserves the right to confer no award where candidates do not meet the selection and/or eligibility criteria for a category in a given year. The decision of the Awards Committee is final and correspondence will not be entered into regarding the outcome of any nomination.

Alex Lyne Fieldwork Award

An annual award for fieldwork in honour of founding President Alex Lyne.
